S'Estudi

In the perfect spot of Blanes (north of Catalonia), we find the new facilities of S'Estudi: a mixing and postproduction studio fully equipped with the finest selection of analog and digital devices. Conceived and designed for mixing and post-production, S'Estudi is a challenge in integration and acoustics. This is a LEDE concept, with a reflection-free zone created for the main monitors, where the low end control is achieved through tuned absorption membranes and broadband multi-layer absorbent panels. The diffusion is achieved by a QRD diffuser that works from 400Hz to 7000Hz. The rear wall of the room consists of a closet with sliding doors that blend acoustic treatment (QRD diffuser and absorption) and the storage capacity of microphones, cables, etc. Behind these sliding doors are also two bass traps for a better low frequency control.

The main listening consist PMC MB2S a stereo system, tri-amplified with Bryston 6BSST amps, and a processor Klein & Hummel ProC28, that includes a FIR filter for final room adjustment. For optimum reproduction of the main system, we decided to flush-mount the speakers inside a multilayered system of large mass, which later would be integrated into the textile decoration of the room. To complete the monitors, it incorporates a second set of K & H speakers:  a stereo pair of O300D + one Sub O810 also controlled by another processor K & H, which allows listening the mixes through a system with subwoofer.
