Complete acoustic design for a high-end recording studio complex in Berlin, built around a reference control room, an SSL 4056 G+ console and an exceptional collection of analogue equipment.
The Brewery Studios is a professional recording and music production complex located in Berlin, featuring an extensive selection of analogue outboard, microphones, instruments and backline.
Acousthink developed the complete acoustic design for the studio, creating accurate and balanced recording and listening environments specifically tailored to the requirements of each room.
At the heart of the complex is the main control room, featuring an SSL 4056 G+ Ultimation console and a Guzauski Swist GS4 2.2 main monitoring system, architecturally integrated into the room and complemented by two custom 18″ subwoofers. A wide selection of alternative monitoring systems allows engineers to reference mixes across different listening conditions.
The recording area comprises a main live room and an independent drum booth with direct visual connection to both the live room and the control room. This layout facilitates communication between musicians and engineers while allowing different recording configurations to be used with the required acoustic isolation between spaces.
The Brewery Studios also includes a dedicated music production studio and a mastering room equipped, among other systems, with a vinyl cutting lathe.
Acousthink was responsible for the acoustic design of the different spaces as well as the supply of several specialist construction elements required for the project, including acoustic doors, resilient mounts, profiles for stretched-fabric finishes and acoustic diffusers.
The detailed development of the construction solutions and the selection of high-performance materials resulted in a facility designed to achieve a high level of sound isolation, acoustic control and monitoring accuracy, meeting the requirements of a professional recording studio of this standard.
