The first time we saw the space where they wanted to build this cinema, we immediately knew that it would not be a conventional room. We wanted to give the space the versatility it offered us: it had to be a cinema, but among other aspects, we could not waste the large amount of natural light that flooded the room through the skylights and the rear window. The result? The incomparable audiovisual experience of the best high-end installation, elevated to the nth power.
The cinema man has acoustic insulation worthy of the most demanding recording studio, since the sound pressure that was projected to have inside the room was very high, thanks in large part to the contribution of the two JL Audio F113 subwoofers (2500 watts RMS short-term, per unit) that are part of the audio system. The room has two acoustic doors with R’w=56dBA, multiple layers of laminated glass of various compositions in the rear window and skylights, and a “box in a box” concept taken to the limit, even reinforcing some of the existing walls, to Ensure the optimal behavior of all household items. The air conditioning and ventilation system is designed to ensure a minimum and above all negligible air velocity, even in the “pianissimo” of a delicate classical piece, always guaranteeing continuous renewal and filtering of the air.
The acoustic treatment was designed to have a controlled space for the live hour, which would maximize the “surround” experience of a film through the diffuse sound field created in the back area of the room, maintaining control of the standing waves and the first reflections. The front, conceived as a large bass trap, hides the Phonar M3 front speakers and the subwoofers, allowing total integration of all the systems that, added to the tarnished finish, gives the cinema an appearance of excellence and elegance.
